Distraction Defeats

Have you ever noticed just when we gain momentum in some area of life, it seems an "innocent" distraction comes up and the next thing we know it's three months later and we're off course.

I've seen this in dieting or any attempts to change my lifestyle for the better
I'v seen it in my writing and ministry goals
I've seen it in the financial arena.

I'm beginning to think there is more to distraction than it appears. I think it is a very large weapon in the enemy's arsenal. Sometimes it may seem a subtle ploy, but a powerful one nonetheless. It sneaks up on you, diverts your attention, and leaves you wondering what happened!

God cares about our ability to stay focused on Him and our mission in life. Momentum and continued forward progress can make the difference between failure and success!

Prov 4:25-27 describes it well:
"Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust."
